Frequently Asked Questions

Our Darlington, Appleways and Crave-N-Rave brands are not available in grocery stores since they are primarily developed for the foodservice markets. However, our products are currently available for purchase through our online store.

All our snacks are baked in a completely nut-free facility. Peanuts, tree nuts and sesame are not used in any of our ingredients, nor are they present in our manufacturing facility so there is no risk of cross contamination.

All of our ingredient statements and nutritional information are available on our Snacks pages.

All products that are designed for school meals are considered “whole grain rich” and have a minimum of 16g of whole grains, meeting or exceeding the USDA nutritional requirements for a one (1) ounce grain equivalent. Our snacks are certified by the Whole Grain Council, assuring that at least half of the grains used in the recipe are whole grain.

Where Darlington® and Appleways® products may be frozen to extend shelf life, Darlington Snacks does not advise freezing our snacks due to the unknown process our customers may take to complete freezing. When freezing a product, the best method is flash freezing, and storing products at or below 0 degrees Fahrenheit. Thawing should be done at room temperature at least 24 hours before consumption, and promptly served and consumed. This will allow the moisture in snacks to balance throughout the bars or cookies. We do not recommend freezing any of our Crispy Bites, Mini Wafers, Crispy Crackers, Animal Crackers and Spikerz™.

Our snacks are all labeled with the “BEST BY” date identifying the date for enjoying the best eating experience. Our cookies or bars will grow stale eventually and become dry. This is a natural process that is simply the gaining or the loss of moisture in the product. During this process, the product does not spoil.

It is okay. However, it will shorten shelf life of the product. It will cause the moistures to become more active and will dry or absorb more than it started with.

NO. Darlington Snacks offers several products in our crispy line that come in what we call “Bulk” packaging. The bulk cases weigh 5.0 Lbs. (pounds), containing four (4) 20.0 oz (ounce) packed bags of snacks per case.

All our snacks are classified as RTE (ready to eat) shelf stable.

Questions though, are we going to print 1k per location, equaling 2k? Or are the locations separate projects for them?
